AI Career Planner

The AI career planner that starts with who you are

Most career tools ask what job you want. MakingMoves first learns how you think, what drives you and where you are strong, then turns that into directions worth exploring and a plan to get there.

What an AI career planner actually does

An AI career planner is not a quiz that prints a job title. On MakingMoves every test you take adds to one profile: your personality, your interests and values, your reasoning strengths and your results over time. The AI reads that profile, not a generic questionnaire, and uses it to suggest directions that fit you, to show the gap between where you are and where you want to go, and to build a practical plan: which skills to develop, which assessments to prepare for and what to do first. You can ask it questions at any point, and the answers change as your profile grows.

What to Expect

  • Discover: take a personality test and a career interest test. Each result goes into your profile, so the AI has something real to work with.
  • Understand: see how you reason, what motivates you and where you are strongest, in plain language rather than a score sheet.
  • Explore: the AI suggests career directions that fit your profile and shows what each one asks of you.
  • Plan: pick a direction and get a step-by-step plan: skills to build, assessments to prepare for, and the order to do it in.
  • Move: practise for the assessments and interviews on that path, and watch the plan update as your results improve.

Expert Tips

Start with the personality test

It is the fastest way to give the AI a real picture of you. Career suggestions get noticeably better once it is in your profile.

Be honest about what you do not enjoy

The planner is as useful for ruling directions out as for finding new ones. Tell it what drains you.

Ask it questions

'Why does this role fit me?' or 'What would I need to learn first?' get specific answers because the AI reads your own results.

Revisit after each test

Every new result sharpens the profile. A plan built on five tests is better than one built on one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI career planner?▼
A tool that builds a picture of who you are from real inputs, in our case personality, interests, reasoning tests and your results over time, and uses AI to turn that picture into career directions and a concrete plan. The difference from a career quiz is that it works from your profile, so the advice is about you rather than a type.
How does the MakingMoves career planner work?▼
You take tests (personality, career interest, reasoning). Each result goes into one profile. The AI reads that profile to suggest directions, show skill gaps and build a step-by-step plan, and you can ask it questions along the way. As you take more tests and practise, the profile and the plan update.
Is the AI career planner free?▼
You can start with the free preview: a few questions per test plus a limited number of AI coach messages, with no payment details required. That is enough to build a first profile and see how the planner reasons about you before you decide on a plan.
Which tests does the career planner use?▼
A personality test and a career interest test are the core. Reasoning tests (numerical, verbal, logical) add your cognitive strengths, and any assessment practice you do later feeds in as well. You choose how much to add; more inputs give a sharper plan.
Can it help me change career?▼
Yes. Career change is where a profile-based planner is most useful: it looks at what you are good at and what drives you, not only at your current job title, and shows which directions reuse your strengths and what you would need to learn for each.
Is it suitable for students and graduates?▼
Yes. If you have little work history, the planner leans on personality, interests and reasoning strengths, which is exactly what a first career choice should rest on. It also prepares you for the assessments graduate programmes use.
How is this different from the career coach?▼
The career planner builds your profile and your plan. The AI career coach is the conversation on top of it: you ask questions, rehearse decisions and get feedback, and it answers from the same profile. They are two views of the same thing.
